I need to get my ### in gear on my hazmat! ####. That's solidly $25k (low end) more per year then I'm set to make hauling water with Stevens.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy where I'm at, but #####!

i would like to know who could work 160hrs a week!!! you would burn out in a month!! you gotta pay your dues to make any money out here,dont believe all the dreams you here! alot of the good money comes at a cost.

 

160 hours is almost 23 hours a day

 

Water trucks get paid 160 à week because they mostly work on ticket time. They get paid 3 hours to haul one load but you can do it in 1 to 1.5 hours and that's how you add up all those hours.

 

Don't know where you work or for which energy company, but pull that crap in the places I'm running and you'll find yourself opposite say, Shell or Chesapeake's lawyers in a court case. A lot of companies have tried padding their tickets like that and wound up kicked to the curb, followed by a hefty lawsuit which they invariably lost.

I realize it depends on the contract, but every place I've dealt with so far is paid on actual ticket time, with the energy company verifying by timestamps on their side (and site cameras, in Chesapeake's case).

 

Down here in Texas that's how everyone runs. I've never seen timestamps. Too much work to worry about all that.

 

I was halfway figuring it'd be a regional difference. Up here in the Marcellus/Utica, we have to get everything signed anyway, unless we're hauling fresh water from a tap to an impoundment. Pick up brine/flowback/production water, sign in, sign out. Deliver same to frac site, drill rig, disposal, or treatment facility, sign in, sign out. Every time you turn around there's a time in/time out being logged, and the various company's billing departments keep pretty close watch on things to make sure they all line up.

Yet another example of (rude, but true) T A F T. This Ain't <blank> Texas.

 

You can probably make good money at it. But, like those early pioneers who followed the gold rush to California , the gold they did find they had to spend on living expenses. This is another form of history repeating itself. Good Luck!!!
