Yeah this is my first truck to buy. Everyone has told me to stay away from Pete 379 and w900l. But I've been looking at a 07 Coronado 13 spd Detroit 15L 515hp 265wb. Or a 07 classic 10spd Detroit 60s 515hp 270"wb and I have looked at a couple t600's

Well the prostar is a cummins. Just lot of people are telling to stay simple and aerodynamic for my first truck. Most are going that direction will save on fuel.

It's not about the best truck. It's about the best truck for the application you intend to use it for. The right engine, transmission, rears, etc.
Mooose Thanks this. -
So which would be best for flatbed/stepdeck?
-
This is why you shouldn't be thinking of buying a truck.

Best trucks are Peterbilts??? Wow that's news to me and a lot of others that prefer other "brands" that are "built" equally as well. I got news for you I got three of the best built trucks out there they are all pre-emission and none of them are are "Peterbuilts". They aren't any tougher than any other truck out there, don't fool yourself.knuckledragger Thanks this.

I've been driving a bit over 20 years, and all but 10 months has been flatbed. Have driven Macks, KWs, Petes, FLs, and now a Volvo. Of them all, I prefer KW. I just always liked the storage, and ergonomics of them. As long as your wheelbase is long enough to fit a cabguard between the cab and trailer, you should be OK. Most of the rest is just personal preference.

Ok thanks MrEd.
