At least most of y'all are on set schedules. I started at 7:00 yesterday, 5:45 today and have to be in at 4:00 tomorrow. Last week there was one day we worked 4:00 am to 12:00, then came back in at 10:00 pm. That's where it gets hard to keep a sleep schedule. OTC sleeping pills rock! Lol
For the regional truckers who work local and start real early. What time do you sleep

I'm with fireman. I have no set schedule, other than I work days. This week.. Mon and Tuesday.. I had to wake up at 0230 to be in by 0400.. I have a hour commute. Today, I didn't have to get up till 0630 and it was heaven sleeping in that long. Usually I start my day between 0430 and 0630. I go to sleep around 0945 each night. I usually like the regional run ill get when a road driver calls in sick. Then I get a 10 hour break and sleep like 9.75 hours. Lol

I go into work between 1 am and 4 am and yeah took some getting use to. I am not a morning person either but Im in the routine now.... I just use my phone and set like 6 alarms on it 3 minutes apart.. that and the wife smacks me to turn it of and get up...lol
I use the Screaming Meanie alarm clock when I am out on the road (I am a really deep sleeper), I set it on high and then put it up in the windshield.... and if I stayed up late watching a movie or just really tired sometimes I will wrap some duck tape around it so I have to wake up to unwrap it to turn it off...lol Dam thing is the loudest ear spliting alarm I have ever heard!!
But as to the guys first question, I usually go to sleep between 8 and 9 depending on my load time in the Am.... You will get into the routine.. -

Man you guys have the crappiest Hrs. I don't miss that its nice to have a life. I always thought there was something wrong with a grown man having to go to bed like a small child. Sad what we have to do to make a buck. Hats off to you all.

Bean customer I was at today, harvest is in full swing. They expect to start shipping exports in about 3 weeks. When they do, I'll work 3:30 am to 3:30 pm M-F thru the end of Feb. Mix of percentage and hourly.

Go to bed late instead of early. Some day you have off stay up all night, straight through to when you want to be going to bed. You shouldn't have trouble sleeping.
And yeah, you'll get used to it. I used to have an irregular schedule and I got used to that.
Sometimes it can help to go to bed when you get home and wake up very early. Some people can't do that.
I work late nights instead of early mornings, but sometimes with the schedule with the kids I end up sleeping some very weird hours.
Just wait till you pull off to the side of the road to sleep through your 30, fall asleep on the steering wheel, and wake up to have a heart attack thinking that you fell asleep at the wheel and went off the road.... I don't think my brake pedal ever quite recovered from that one. -
They have alarm apps that you have to physically get up and scan something with your phone to cut the alarm off. I leave out at 3am always start my day with a 20oz redbull and a cigarette (breakfast of champions) lol. I usually don't get but 3-4 hrs of sleep a night, I only have problems when I get to much sleep makes me lazy all day.
