I know my post was a bit harsh,.. but my goal was not discouragement, but rather to learn from past mistakes.

I was in this OP's position 3 yrs ago. I first hired a lawyer and then prayed the judge would grant me leniency to wipe my record clean. Then I sucked it up and worked 12 months for a tyrant of a company owner in order to get enough experience to be hireable when I quit. The hell I went through to protect my license while I worked there. I wouldnt wish it on any driver. But I survived. In fact I used what I learned in order to become a successful O/O. It can be done. Its just a difficult path to stay the course and complete.

Anything can be overcome. How hungry are you and how determined are you to become a successful truck driver? Use your wits. The first thing you should have done is cleaned up that record. Just because its already there doesnt mean it cant go away. Your over all record will weigh heavily on the outcome. Truthfully I was pretty nervous hoping I didnt just blow my money for nothing. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

either try a mom & pop outfit, or self insured trucking company. the bigger companies are less likely to hire you.

Heck I paid $800 to an attorney to turn a 16 over into a 14 over. Nobody is perfect, but nobody is going to act like a 15 over is no big deal in trucking either.

He should get a copy of his MVR, have the infraction professionally removed. Send the "clean" copy around, and one of the MANY sloppy-lazy hiring managers will hire him and put the forged copy right into his filing cabinet. And if discovered, the worst thing they can do is just fire him and he'll sit at home, just like he's doing now.

Pfft,.. I paid $1200 to make 1 suspension and 2 driving on suspension with knowledge get wiped clean like it never happened. I had the points from the last driving while suspended showing for another 5 months before they would be dropped. But I needed work and I needed it now. The suspension was for being behind on my child support. I got stopped the first time because my 3rd brake light was out. I never thought I would be stopped for that,. but I digress. The second was after I was rear ended, I tried to say I left my license at home. Trooper was no rookie and ran me anyway. Talk about tough luck. I just couldnt catch a break. So I do feel for the OP. But its his obstacle to over come.

    Carolina Cargo might work.
    Paschall Truck Lines
    Martin Enterprises of the Carolinas
    Buel Inc.

Not much to choose from with that ticket.

Shhh. Sometimes its better to allow a simplistic mellow ideal fall through the cracks rather then open up pandora's box. :)

In that case, check the "Seeking Employment" and "Trucking Jobs" thread.
