So far from what I found out you need $250 when you get there. $100 for registration around $70 for the CDL and the rest for food for the first 3 days. After Wednesday they will start paying you $70/week during training for food and other expenses till you get your CDL.

They also want you to get your permit before coming but only for those living in Texas already.

I don't mean to cut into your thread but i have a question to add to yours i have a clean driving record except i have a ca and reckless bt the cop gave me a warning ticket cause he was in the wrong not me cause apperantly you can't spin tires in your own front yard in the country no more but i was wondering if i need to put that on my applications or just not mention it i jt don't know if companies can pull that up and would that affect anything its been like 2 and a half 3 years ago

Pull your driver record at the DMV to find out. If nothings on it then no need to say anything. I know Steven only wants info 3 years back on your record.

My advice is to look at the company as a whole. Don't go by the carriers website because they put their best truck tire forward.

Most companies are going to pay you while your on the road with a trainer, however, $450.00 a week seems like the pay that they all seem to want to pay.

no matter what, your going to fall behind in your bills because you won't see a paycheck right away, but this is the price you will pay to get in the door.

    RGomez,

I have heard that at Raider Express where I am currently at, they receive over 200 applications a week. What I did was apply online on a Sunday then called them on a Monday. By Friday, I was approved to be hired. Now what does that mean exactly???

It means that if you make it through the 4 weeks of training at the terminal, pass the road test, aka skills test, and make it through the few tests they give at orientation, you can be hired to drive for the company.
