If you have to go faster to get better fuel mileage either your technique at driving needs a lot of work, or there's something wrong with the truck. Pushing the turbo to cover up a leak in the charge air cooling system will do this, and is a common problem.

 

The guys had the truck two months. After two months with a truck i wouldnt understand its fuel mileage all that well and neither will he. Its takes longer to a good understanding of how a truck runs regarding its fuel mileage. Besides his post can be taken as though he just thinks if he maintains his momentum in the hills he will get better fuel mileage. This is partially at times though not always true. He doesnt clearly state that if speeds up on flat ground that he loses fuel mileage. I didnt see where the guy asked for your advise anyway.
