Also bear in mind that as a new saia driver you'll be a system driver more than likely which means you'll be out 5 to 7 days not knowing when you will get home between those days. It all depends on if the turn point has something going back to where you were originally domiciled from. If not you will be heading to another terminal. At least this is what I was told at an interview. Even though they are not union, the runs are still seniority based so you won't have a set schedule until you got enough time in to bid on something more to your taste.

i am hired by saia. started the 15th. new bid runs will start on the 29th. theres 18 guys and 16 runs, and several of the guys wanna be systems, so ill be getting a run, just a matter of which run i get. this coming week i may be like a system driver, theyll use me wherever, which is fine by me since i need the $.

going very well. had my first hotel stay in chicago a cpl days ago, was good. have successfully hooked up pups solo 4 times now. gets easier every time. no complaints, lots of miles.
