I'm Grand Rapids and need heat now..lol I this step by step and every time I go out to see what happens, there's a hose right by the gas tank that blows off a lot white smoke. I come back in and the same cold air is blowing off the vents...I computer give off more heat...

That white smoke is fuel trying to burn. There's Is a screen inside the unit and the fuel gets sticky and gums it up preventing it from igniting. Or so I've been told.

My theory is that if you try turning it on over and over you may be able to burn that bad fuel off and get some fresh fuel to ignite. No idea if it really works, but it seems to for me.

If it's really too cold for you, call the shop and let them know. They'll either tell you to idle the truck or send you to thermoking.

If its blowing smoke it is flooded and getting carbed up. What you can try is remove the fuel connection on your tank. Its the small one on top of your tank. Then turn your heater on. Let it cycle for a bit. Then re connect your fuel line and start it. It might take 2 or 3 times. I sometimes run a bottle of kerosene thru it also to clean it. Not guaranteed to work but it does work for me sometimes. These heaters suck.

I know the feeling. About 80% of the time.when I come off home time I am sent to LA or long beach to pick up. Then spend 5 hours trying to make it out of that place
