Not quite. For example, if you depart from Green Bay wi, pick up a load and bring it to BNSF Chicago, outgate at the same rail yard with a load heading back to greenbay, you could make it home at least once or twice a week doing something of a similar fashion. And make your daily cash goal.

moving to Green Bay would have to be something we do. We live in the wis dells area. I don't think that would work, the recruiters said we were in a good spot.
-
Where will you be domiciled from? Or do they let you take the truck home with you?
-
I take the truck home with me

Ok. They right. You're in the middle of both Minneapolis and BNSF Chicago. You can get some good miles just running freight between the two cities alone. I was assuming you lived in Green Bay. If you were to pick up a load and take it to BNSF Chicago then deliver a load in Madison you not only would be able to make your cash goal, but also get home once or twice a week if your next load is picking up from Minneapolis rail ramp.

You'll get good miles but you won't be making $80k a year. It really depends on the pay per mile you get will determine how much you make. If you hustle and drive, $50k is not uncommon. If you take just the 34 hrs off, maybe and just maybe, $60k is realistic, but I think you would have to be at the top end of the pay scale to achieve that.
With the WI intermodal, you will hit Green Bay, the Fox Valley and the surround areas the most and most of the freight will roll south to Chicago. I would say about 95% of my loads go south to Chicago and about 5% to St. Paul, and I usually have to ask for those. But I believe, though I am not sure, the drivers that live along the WI-29 corridor see more St. Paul freight versus the drivers that don't live there. In my opinion, there are more miles to be made on the GB-St Paul routes, but with the GB - Chicago, you get $20 or $30 more for congestion pay. -
So local makes more then regional in Chicago than?
-
Hey Ebola, isn't that 29 nice now? And to think of all the scary rides I used to make on that road years ago when it was 2 lane.
Ebola Guy Thanks this. -
It really all depends Cody. Some guys are making bank on the local routes. The only way a regional guy can trump a local guy in pay is if he's running at least 3000 miles a week. Last time I checked regional guys were just getting mileage. This route that Deuteronomy applied to would be the bomb if they married activity based pay with the higher regional mileage pay of the regional fleet. That's the only way you're going to hit 61k to 80k a year as advertised. I'd jump on that!
