Bill.....since you only had 4 months with England and the base period of your unemployment claim will not cover any length of employment with them, they (England) aren't going to fight your claim all that hard since it won't go against their account. You editing those logs was simple incompetence, not malicious or intentional. England dismissed you from service...and ended your work, you have the right to unemployment benefits. Your unemployment claim will ultimately go to secondary review, but there is an excellent chance it will be approved.

What? Where are you getting any of that from? CR England did not tell him to falsify his logs. They FIRED him for falsifying his logs. CR England did nothing wrong, the driver did

Chinatown: Thanks
RebelYeller5:Thanks, PHEW, I'll ask legal aid just to be sure, and not sweat it so much.
Everyone else:
Thanks, as stated, I KNOW what I did wrong, MY FAULT. NOT CREs. I got advice from another driver, and went back over my logs to convert all those 5-10 minute "on duties" that Powder Joints mentioned, sitting online at the pump waiting, getting out to "kick the tires," stopping on an offramp to check my bearings, Ring phone dropped signal, etc . Problem was MINE, not CRE's, I did not GOAL, I was too fast to save 70 hr time. Being new, I always felt, go NOW, just say YES, hit the road NOW, without thinking or planning ahead. Lots of swaps, never seemed enough time to stop and actually plan a trip, just get the route copied, GO, plan my first stop, the rest later.
I asked for another chance with CRE, they said NO. Glad I'm not there, not happy with how. I WILL fault CRE for training you enough to drive forward, but...(know what I mean?)
Chinatown: I drove reefers for CRE. But, thanks again, that helps. Airgas was on my list, also beverage companies (beer, I could deliver BEER!!!), and LA is lousy with gravel and cement Cos . And as I looked online at Monster, Careerbuilder, etc., I found LOTS of places looking for newbies, I just gotta put on the Blue Parrot, start the fun!
Thanks all, any more local LA, CA leads would be helpful, even send straight to me.

Some cement outfit named Robertson's hires new CDL drivers.
A lot concerning local companies depends on what you're willing to put up with and what you consider fair pay. -
So, this was fun! FIRST, read the thread above....I submitted to, and got a call from Melton Recruiting. I explained up front my situation above, and the recruiter said, "cheating on your logs..." I cut her off and said, "Wait, let's be clear, I was NOT cheating, you are allowed to go back and edit your logs. What I did was take bad advice, I went back and made stupid mistakes." To which she replied, "You cheated..."
Just FYI -
Sorry for the delay, but they are good now. I got an email within the hour from another recruiter apologizing for the improper comments of the previous recruiter. So, I accepted their apology, it is over with as far as I am concerned.

I do an edit most mornings. I do most of my pretrip before the truck is started, then after it is started it takes the dang qualcom/elog about five full minutes to boot up. So I take some time from the end of my off duty/sleeper berth and change it to pre-trip. It more accurately reflects what I really did.

So, I got hurt, am applying for unemployment, which was denied due to firing. I got advise that I could win on appeal. What should my response be? I was thinking bad training, anyone have any ideas?
Chinatown Thanks this. -
You got hurt? Are you injured and can't drive any more?
There's a company in Fresno that will probably hire you for runs to Florida and back. You can still drop by the homestead on each trip. Youngs Transportation in Fresno.
