Thank you very much. I'm OTR but Raven has local drivers. We only drive the eastern States, no Illinois, no New York, no states above it. We run from Pennsylvania all the way down to Florida, as far west as we go west is Houston Texas, back through Louisiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee etc. About 14-20 states is what we run as a whole.Last edited: Sep 23, 2014

With a years experience starting pay is 43cpm. Coming from Swift I got an 11 cent raise. And they keep me moving. Our weekly miles are anywhere from 2300-2400. It depends on the driver, if desired can do more. No limits set, within the law, of course.

How is Raven on hiring recent graduates from trucking school. My course is accredited. ????

Hi Hammer, last I heard Raven requires a years experience of verifiable OTR work. With that said, Raven is/has rolled out the Apprentice Program where someone with 6 months experience can get on with a trainer for a few days, go solo, making 37cpm and then when a year of total experience is complete be bumped up to 43 cents a mile.
Raven has a hiring area as well but being in NC you are in a great location otherwise.lcfd15 and Hammer_Down Thank this. -
Thanks for the info , and im really interested in Raven. If I have to go somewhere else to start out . I will do that, but Raven sounds like a better deal.

I am currently considering making a move back to otr and considering raven so a few questions what elogs system are they using, are ther trucks decent or are they rundown, have you had any problems getting home for your hometime
-
Raven has an older elogs system, a little bigger than the newer version. At some point they will switch to the newer systems but since they had bought them in bulk they placed them in all of their trucks. If you used the newer version the older versions aren't that difficult to get used to.
About the trucks they are 2-4 years old and they switch them out at around 4-5 years old. They are in great shape. Before they issue them they have someone detail them, which means they clean the inside after the old driver moves to another truck. Also every other month we can go to blue beacon and have them washed at the companies expense. They have an account with blue beacon. I was at the Georgia terminal a week and a half ago and there was a guy who also washes trucks at no cost to drivers.
Home time is not an issue. I am currently on my way home now. I currently have a load that delivers anytime tomorrow near my house. I don't even have to ask or remind my driver leader. On his computer and all driver leaders computers is a countdown clock that tells them the last time you were home and they get me back no problem. Every other week I'm home. Sometimes I pass through the house with a load. This week I've been home twice .
By the way, where are you located? Raven has a hiring area of mostly east coast so if you live on the east coast you're good. -
You can start somewhere else, do 6 months for them, and then call Raven before you leave,if you still want to at that point, see if you are approved to come on over. At the 6 months mark of your career check to see if the Apprentice Program is still going on and if so fill out an application and call the recruiter letting her know you submitted an application and take it from there.Hammer_Down Thanks this.
