There's very little barrier to entry, the average person can sign and drive on a new $60k dually under a consumer finance loan and buy a new 40' gooseneck for 10k. Whereas a 30k semi will require tax returns, P&L statements and come with a hefty commercial interest rate. Pay is always subject to supply and demand, no matter the type of trucking.
what are the top 3 load boards?

@hiiii98 Why are you so mad and upset. I am new and learning and wow bro. Teach me something you been at it longer than me. How do i get good paying runs. I honestly do not know. Right now im running a load 53ft from atl to MD with a stop in charlotte where I will drop everything but 5 pallets. Then I get to carry 5 pallets in my 53ft to md. How do I go about booking something in between or is that a NO NO

Why can't everyone just get along
Tanhands Thanks this. -
I'm not mad and upset, I just don't like being mislead or the spread of false/poor information.
sure you can book inbetween, you need to get on these load boards (top 3 being central dispatch, internet truck stop, and get loaded or even dare I say uship) and find a nearby load that matches your specific freight type. I was hoping to get more tips myself, but I can see that isn't going to happen. -
I don't know about the winch part but there's 40' trailers all over the internet for under 10k. Lots of guys getting out the business because they can't make enough money...

Ok I am signed up with just CH and TQL presently. I see now I need those top three. I am on ITS website now signing up I see where there is a $105 super duper package option and a $35 dollar option. I am not a cheapo but is there a benefit to the super duper ice cream scooper or will I be fine with entry level base model?

This is business is trial and error. Join a few load boards and get searching for whatever it is your looking for. No one can tell you exactly what's going to work for you.

I remember seeing on the contract paperwork where it said something about if you running their load, your truck is exclusive to them in other words u cant run two loads at the same time in one truck. I see it as being proactive by getting paid twice for running once. Correct me if i'm wrong or greedy

your leased company gets a percentage of the load as they are covering it.
