Prime's hiring area is north of I10, but will sometimes take folks from Tampa. Its an issue of not enough available freight to guarantee your home time.

    Wreekster Thanks this.

Anyone starting prime orientation on november 3rd? I will be there. Anyone ever drove there? I am going there from CT. It takes 18 hours.. thinking of driving or taking the bus. Bus ticket is only $100 + train fare from ct to nyc.

I drove in, did most of it in about 13 hours, then I stopped because I was dead tired and had never driven in snow before (and it was one of those 'storm of the year' storms) - and I was on US 60, not a particularly nice road at 2am in snow. They'll reimburse you something like 10 cents per mile, which basically covered gas for me. Theres plenty of long-term parking at the terminal on a secure lot and all that good stuff.

It was handy during training, but now it kind of sucks when I go home and have to steal a car to get a round, at least until I get around to fixing my motorcycle.

Check your airfare from up there to Springfield as well. They'll reimburse you the price of the bus ticket after you arrive.

No regrets here though, I got held up* after the first week and didn't get an instructor until the middle of the next week so I had about 5 days with nothing to do.. The cafeteria is convenient and the motel is loads of fun, but I'd rather have some wheels.. (*didn't get cleared, couldn't go to the practice pad or the terminal as I did not have a badge)

And later (long after PSD) on I learned, there's a store in town that has a great selection of craft beer.

Which is real nice AFTER you're completely out of training. Show up at the Campus Inn loaded, and you're gone.
