Picked up the wagon. Ended up being 9280 lbs which is impressive. Saw the prototype superiorslide which is also impressive. Very happy with the trailer so far. Rides very nice. I just loaded 45925 lbs and have a cat scale ticket showing 4900 lbs free. That means I'm 29200 empty if you believe the bol. I'm probably closer to 29500. With a 53 footer.
Went for a tour of their production line and met the man himself Jim adams. They call him "the creator" as if he was deity. He is essentially the top trailer engineer in the world. He wouldn't specifically say what he was working on, but the feeling I can't escape is that it is a larger jump to his new design from the revolution than a normal trailer to the revolution. One thing he did say is he wants to have the entire revolution trailer friction stir welded. They have made a few improvements to the trailers over the years.
He actually hasn't heard about the alutrec capacity so he gave me his contact info. -
I'm guessing by the world you mean USA
-
Fontaine is the largest trailer producer in the world.
-
Well, after research Fontaine doesn't even come close to the largest not even in USA they only made 5300 units last year Wabash made 46000 units. There is some stuff saying they are the biggest platform builder in the world but with only 5300 units it's highly doubtful. In 2007 CIMC was the largest trailer manufacturer the world at 110,000 units.
-
I did mean platform yes, the plant I was at makes 23 a day and they have several more. They want to hit 40 a day.
-
They're also at the forefront of innovation. Dry vans aren't exactly evolving much right now.
-
I think the Revolution has a lot of great things going for it, But for me, it's just to tall and no center nailing strip.
-
According to who?
