Speaking of this very subject, last night in North Carolina on 95, a driver was all over the road, bypassed a scale, and I pulled into the Pilot and he pulled in too. Walked up to me and smiled and shakes his head. I asked if he knew he just ran that scale, he couldn't speak English and had no idea what I was saying when I called him a ####### idiot. Unreal.
Do you all believe there are CDL holders that do not read or speak English in America

3000 dollars out of pocket, and I passed my dmv test after a three week school in which I got less than three hours of seat time on the road and only slightly more seat time practicing backing. I took my first road test for a job having never backed anything longer than a 28 foot pup trailer and having never pulled 53 foot trailer. The first thing they asked me to do (after pre trip) was to hook up to a trailer, which I had never done in school.
You bet I have no problem throwing them under the bus, just wish it would do some good.
Oh, and after I got my first class a job, with no help from their placement guy, he kept calling and harassing me, trying to get me to fill out a form with where I got a job so he could count me in his statistics as having been placed by the school.
Oh, but they did have a lengthy class on hos and log books. Instructor insisted that once you hit three hours of on duty time you were out of hours for the day, regardless of driving time. After arguing with him for a good long while one of the other guys pulled me out of the class into the office where he explained that yes, of course I was correct, but hos laws are far too complicated and the way they teach them keeps people out of trouble....Giggles the Original and bergy Thank this. -

I drop cheese in Tulare, Ca almost every week... At the plant they have pictures of a Padlock, and another of a Vent Door..
Both have been "converted" to a bunch of squiggles that make up a language that Habib can understand.
and they added "yes" and " no" so, yes i believe some dont speak a lick of english. the guys that work in shipping confirmed it..
They added signs in spanish now too..
They may or may not get scribbled on by bored truckers that speak english... lol -
I speak Canadian. I've been working hard to master the American language though...
Lepton1 Thanks this. -
