Hi cutie00345:
Saw your post and your question made me curios to see how my pay stacks up to industry competitors. Looked at KLLM web site for solo OTR driver with 7+ years verifiable experience, which is what I have. KLLM pays .41 cents per mile. I'm a Shaffer solo OTR driver with 7 years total experience and make .445 cents per mile. At KLLM's advertised pay rate of .41 cpm working 50 weeks (2 weeks cumulative days off annually), with an average of 2,500 miles per week, would be a salary of $51,250. -
...whatever the advertised cpm, KLLM pays 'Mover Miles'.... not actual miles.
Lepton1 Thanks this. -
Hi chicadriver:
Did not know that...thanks. Shaffer pays practical miles now. Much better now than in the past getting short-changed on 'household mover' miles.Lepton1 Thanks this. -
There are so many variables that go into that equation. Are you starting with experience or without? Miles have been between 2000-3000 a week, multiply that by the $0.34 starting pay and factor how much home time that you will not be driving.

What would a beginner otr make in a week?
-
Call a recruiter and ask. It depends on how much they are going to pay you and how many miles you get per week. I would imagine (I haven't been with KLLM for over 3 years) safe figure to start with is 32 cents per miles at 2500miles a week average. That's $800 before taxes and whatever other deductions you might have.

Did the pay rate stay the same or go down in the 9 years since this thread started?
