Your short loads mainly d/h I would imagine in order to get 2 a day? Do they usually have open windows or do you have to run a tight schedule? Seems it would be a trip planning nightmare if not.
Do you book your whole week in advance and make changes as needed? Love the way you run! -
99.9% of my loads are d/h. Open windows mostly. I try to book my whole week in advance, but that doesn't always work. And sometimes the best loads pop up the day before....
-
Would you do more short live load/unloads if your truck was paid off? Or would the pay not make up for time wasted as compared to d/h's.
-
To offset the dock time the pay would have to be really good. You figure every live load is normally at least an hour (on a very good day) then an hour to unload (once again on a very good day) that's 2 hours lost every load.
-
No... As you stated, it's not worth it...acouplyr Thanks this.

All trucks are aligned from factory. Only thing is, it's to factory specs. As we used to say in the military, Close enough for government work. That's how the factory does it. It's not perfect but close enough. When I got my truck, it pulled to the right. SFI sent it to a shop that said it was good. Took it to my own shop and it was so far out it was unreal. That was 2 years ago and it still drives straight as an arrow. New steers lasted 190,000 miles, shocks went bad and started cupping.
