Airfare = out of pocket expenses which I cant. Greyhound means long trip, but I can earn some cash since Im getting around $200 If I get my own ticket. I'll go that route since I do need to feed my family... $220 from prime, get ticket online now for $100. Plus fees to get to NYC and terminal. Hoping around $70 earned and I will use that until my psd is over. Hope that goes well. Eat less means diet for me so hope I lose some weight also!
Cant afford to spend much, since my family needs it. Wife + 3 kids aint easy. If anyone can give a basic list I need please pm me... I'm also preparing to warm my own meals while training in truck. Will not be buying food. I can live with eating noodles or something.

During heck week you'll be fed at the campus inn. If you get a decent instructor he/she should at least help out when you need it. I would be good enough to do that anyways. (My instructor did) .
-
prime gives PSD a 200$ advance per week that money is for their food no instructor should feel obligated to help their student do anything except pass their test
-
Obligated, no. But there is still a thing called common decency. If a student goes in and the instructor is so stingy that he/she won't even share a cubic inch of fridge space then things could get unpleasant and/or miserable for said student.
when I get a student on he/she will have some cabinet and cubby hole space. I will also try to share some fridge space.lakerized805, Reycer and Drac1985 Thank this. -
prime finally got around to calling my past employers and one of them, i guess a hispanic person picked up and he didnt speak much english so prime pretty much said NOPE and now their saying i need 2 notarized letters saying i worked there.. i told them to call back to try again its only 5 mins out of their BUSY schedule.. they said NOPE
whats the deal with these letters can it be anyone can do them because i dont know many people willing to go out of their busy schedule to go to a notary with me other than my parents, and hopefully they dont call them because my parents dont speak much english either... ahh this sucks. -
Yeah you would think common courtesy specially being with your trainer for 2 months.

wow prime screwed me big time, after 3 weeks of waiting and a ton of paperwork later they accepted my app, only to tell me my license means nothing and i got to go through the PSD program and get my license AGAIN! wth prime i already paid a lot of money for my cdl im not about to do all that hassle all over again plus sign a 1 yr contract..
oh well there goes prime. im going to tell them NOPE. -
first prime didn't screw you!!!!! Evidently wherever you went to get your cdl wasn't on primes approved school list . you won't have to get your license again they want you to go through the PSD program to make sure you can drive and you would get a 10000 mile credit toward your team training miles you need to rethink telling them nopeReycer and FullMetalJacket Thank this.

You screwed yourself. Sat on your CDL for over a year. Prime only takes CDL school graduates with no experience within 6-8 weeks of graduation... Blame yourself.
Reycer and FullMetalJacket Thank this. -
As per the other respondents to your post, the blame is on you sir. Outside of a local guy desperate for a driver, none of the majors are going to take you on without an extensive training (or re-training depending on how you look at it) period. It's not up to the carriers as much as it is to the insurance providers. Your extended lapse presents a very high risk for your involvement in an accident... the insurance companies have enough empirical data showing that drivers with that kind of lapse independent of their experience level are a much higher risk. Good luck in your future endeavors, but I think you'll find that to one extent or another you'll get the same answer at every door you knock on. BTW, don't burn your bridges with an angry phone call; after you check around you may decide this was your best offer.FullMetalJacket, cardinals1970 and DenaliDad Thank this.
