Like option 4. As for fuel i was in i think loves or maybe flying j can't remember. But they have this cloth looking tube u lower into tank to clean and absorb water. Mind is fuzzy. It's a new item there selling along with oil testing kits.

I like option 3, but I'm a gambler by nature and sometimes not a good one lol. IMO if not option 3, then option 2 would be my next choice.

Option 5, quit truckin, write a "Life and Times of DFO", sell the movie rights to Steven King to turn into a North East horror flick and retire comfortably to a life of Southern Comfort and Mountain Dew testing

Is Option #3 using the $5,000 line of credit in addition to the personal loan, or is it just the personal loan?

If it's just the personal loan then I would go option three as you have the 5k LOC for the unexpected immediately. You'd then be able to put up at least $400 a week in savings, or $2,000 a month. That will quickly build up into a healthy buffer.

If Option #3 included the LOC then I like Option #2.5 - using the $10k from the maintenance, the $20,000 from the CU so SNI is only financing $24 over a 12 month period. You get that paid off and can avoid an early pay off fine then have the CU paid off by 18 months from now. I'm not sure if you can actually do that and the actual APR on the various loans.

Although after typing that it looks much more complicated, so I vote #2.

    Is option #2 1.5 or 2 years?

If its 1.5 years then that sounds like the best option you have and it is actuality about a 5.425% annual interest rate which is a great rate.

I would ask the bank to finance the 54k... Put 5k down and finance for 3 years.

i noticed black liquid in my fuel/water separator and tried to drain a little to confirm. took it to west memphis oc and they said they only knew about 1 other truck that had that problem and that driver only had to keep having the fuel filter replaced as it got full over a couple of months. they said i needed a biocide additive for this 2010 freightliner columbia -_- that was 2 weeks ago. i finally made it to the laredo oc (since my DBL thinks they are the only shop with that additive) and they put it in and replaced the filter a few days ago. Just got back on the road yesterday but my fuel doesn't seem to be depleting as quickly as it was before they added it. good luck!
