Crete Carrier - A Year In Review - Fall 2013 Going Forward

Got my 34 in. Drove 9 miles to the receiver. Was told this load was being relocated to their other facility nine miles away. OK, no biggie.

Get there in time for my 1000 appt. while being unloaded, I get a preplan. I pick up....nine miles away....7 hours from now. 777 miles to West Jefferson. I take it. I'm not fighting it any longer. By days end, I'll have logged 25 miles today. 25 miles on a fresh 34. And I feel a PA/OH/PA/OH scenario coming up.....

 

The I 15 is open. At some points near exit 90 it is down to one lane in each direction, but it is open.

 

Got my miles for Sept....10,416....actually slightly better than I thought.

 

I don't know...I haven't seen the NE very much this entire year...if I do get up there, it is in and out...back to NE or TX. This is pleasing to me, and very odd compared to previous years...

I had only 9,747 in Sept. Took 4 days off early in the month. Not bad though...I am still 12,041 ahead of last year at the same time.

 

Well, in yet another Maxxcrapper. One that broke down had multiple issues and got the replacement last Monday. Had to tcall the load I was on at the shop so I lost 486 miles because of the breakdown as I was set to camp out at the cons and deliver early Monday morning..even with 4 1/2 days off and the breakdown sunday/monday I managed 11740 for September..I would have had 12226 plus all day monday/tuesday to finish out the month but not meant to be I guess.
This new PS pulls like crap and gets horrible mileage, averaging mid 5's when I am usually mid 7's
This year has turned out well, I'm on par with last year, may end up with a tad more, I'll be taking 5 days vacation at the end of this month and hopefully finish the year strong.
Heading to Breinigsville Pa tomorrow, I am in Pa quite a bit but I don't mind it, miles are miles..Out of the house is almost always a Pa run.

 

Earned my keep today...

Barstow,CA to the WM DC in Grantsville, UT and back to the yard in SLC. Not a day I care to do again but at least my next check will be alright.

looks as if everybody is getting screwed into PA a lot.

 

While I've also noticed that cretes pay isn't as proportionally higher than it used to be (pointed out a while ago that USX pays the same in some cases), dont be fooled by Swift. I doubt 40 cpm is their base pay, it's probably for loads under 100 miles.
