ok so you should be clearing at least 500 a week ( on the low side ) unless your spending 50 to 100 bucks a day ? Are you ? On what do you spend your money? does it go into a bank account that your parents have control of ? Are they spending your money ? Are you Hooked on phone sex or some such thing ? Dude think before you spend. You should be able to get a car after a couple of months if you save. spend around 6k an get a good car. then work on getting your own place. You dont even have to rent an apartment just rent a room from someone. but you have to pick yourself up an get a life of your own. You sound kinda like a nerd ( nothing wrong with that ) I have lots of friends that are nerds. Look on Zoosk start dating, you dont have to buy the cow to get the milk ! And remember we are all wierd so what! Feel free to PM me if you would like to talk. Never hurts to have another friend. Take care.:biggrin_2556:

I've lived in a truck off/on for 4 years. It's not due to a lack of cash, family, or poor social skills. I plan my 'hometime' for areas I like and vacation there for 3 days at a time. All my bills are on auto pay so haven't needed a mailing address. I did buy a van for use at my home terminal though and have found it to be invaluable. Having a place to pile my excess stuff, a vehicle for personal use, and an instant escape pod if things go south w/ my company is perfect. And savings? I won't say, but if something changed I would have plenty of cash to reinvent myself somewhere else!

I got my own apartment recently, but I'm also leaving OTR for a line haul job. After 2 years of not having any bills, you should have saved up enough money to get an apartment and a car. No self respecting woman is going to date a man who doesn't have a car and his own home. You need to get those things first, then worry about your family life.

how can you tell that i'm a nerd? how can people sense that?

I haven't had any success at online dating sites, I start conversations and then nobody ever writes me back. this happens on every site. I have met women on a certian social network site but every woman i've actually met in real life has been a nutcase

$6K for a car? I spent $1800 on my last car in 2008

I gotta be honest. You sound alot like me in alot of ways. Only you care about stuff more than me.

Just learn to let go bro. Dont take life too seriously. Removing yourself from your comfort zone helps too.

The problem with online dating sites is that many of the profiles are fake.

Another problem may be your standards. If you're looking for "Mrs Right", you're still going to be single at 60. Lower your standards. You'd be surprised at what will happen next.

    This applies to women also
