Illinois -- is it possible to pass a CDL skills test without going to a school

    yes, that is why i said he should do part time. 2 hours a day for 2 days or weekends only.

    Right, I run a business, it is very difficult for me to fit into any kind of a schedule for a 160 hour school commitment.

    Additionally, I already know (and passed) rules of the road and pretrip.

    The scandal & tie in with truck driver licenses was quite bad...here's a quote from Wikipedia:
    The corruption scandal that led to Ryan's downfall began over a decade earlier as a federal investigation into a deadly crash in Wisconsin which killed six children of Rev. Duane Willis and his wife, Janet. The investigation revealed a scheme inside Ryan's secretary of state's office in which unqualified truck drivers obtained licenses through bribes.

    Someone needs to do something about it. State examiners are not allowed to co-opt the test and make it their own. Federal guidelines mandate that the testing be done a specific way with specific pass / fail points.

    They are breaking the law if they are doing it that way.
