What should I look for in high vis clothes? I have steel toe 6", would these suffice? If not, can you suggest something? Want to make sure i get it right and not waste money that I don't really have.

Generally they want over ankle protection. Warm clothes like like long johns and sweaters. All your other ppe they should supply. If you have it bring it, but don't go out and buy stuff there. Good companies supply it so they know they approve the product you're using
Caluja Thanks this. -
Thanks nitrogen....8" boots it is. Four day plus drive out to GP....think I'll drive my diesel car instead of the wife's HD truck.

Hey there, Looking for advice on who would be a good place to apply to. I was hired for frac (iron truck) and have been at this place for 2 months and going to lose my shirt if I keep waiting. This base is not that busy and have only been netting 2400 a month. I have no problems with the company, I just think this base is not a good choice for me. I have 10 years experience with my class 1 and have done liquid, flatbed. Anywhere near Calgary that would be a good choice to apply to? I have accomodations in Calgary. Anywhere else in Alberta I would need it to have accomodations or to pay extremely well to cover it myself. Just don't want to make the wrong choice again.

Hang in there. It's going to pick up all over as we get into winter
-
Is it?
Crude prices dropping like a stone.
Uncertainty over rig utilization.
Cut backs on Frac spreads.
Asian investors on the fence about western Canada.
Christy Clark playing mind games with LNG investors.
Ongoing treaty/land rights discussions with no end in sight.
All points to concerns about where things go this winter.
I'd like to be positive, but I'm a realist. -
Fair enough. Short of disaster winter is busier than spring and summer

.....Ebola

Apparently it's had a huge effect on mining as well as the oil industry in Africa. Could be something to consider?

Might have a lead with Reilly Transfer out of GP, doing chem transfer, though apparently they're getting into fluid handling as well. Anyone heard of them? Sounds like it's a commission gig, % of the bill. Guy said it worked out to $32-45/hr, $6000/month gross minimum. Must be all straight time though. That seem reasonable? $6k and up works for me, but I'm wary of non-hourly...
