Are there any trucking scholarships out there? Particularly for women truckers?

Hey everyone. I'm new here and I'm in a jam. I started a 10 week course to get my CDL. The school I'm attending made wild promises about financial aid help and a no-fail program. I'm 7 weeks in and the last bit of hope I had for financial aid just fell through. I've been scouring the internet for trucking scholarships or anything I can use to pay down my debt. I'm hoping someone here has some ideas for me. I already started an online crowdfunder to try to raise money. http://www.youcaring.com/tuition-fundraiser/cdl-for-cynthia/248848 I did get $10. Only $5990 to go. LOL

I'd prefer a scholarship to begging strangers on the internet any day. Any available that you know of? If it's for a woman, it's my lucky day. I happen to be one.

 

Wow, come to ask for help and I get told to lose weight. How charming you must be. At least I'm getting my CDL. It still says you're a "wannabe".

I've never heard of WIA but I'll look into it. If it's government based I'm guessing I won't qualify because I didn't qualify for any of their other help. I will definitely start Googling it to see what it entails.

 

"The checks in the mail." Is this what the entire forum is like? A bunch of jerky guys who seem to have nothing intelligent to add to the conversation but insist on posting gibberish anyway?

If you don't know of any scholarships or organizations, a simple "good luck" would do. -_-

 

Oh and I just Googled WIA. It referred me to the Career Link center in my area. I have spoken to them. The training grant they offer has exhausted their funds for the remainder of the year. If I wanted any help from them, I'd have to wait until next Spring or so.

 

I had no idea $6000 was a heavy price tag. It's through Schuylkill Technology Center in Pennsylvania. Unfortunately there's not much out this way and now I think they took advantage of that and raised the prices. Honestly, the facility is crappy, the trucks are ancient and broken, but it's down the street from me and it's only a 10 week course.
