I wasnt trying to pick a fight Daycabber. Just trying to give him a few pointers.
I have had my authority since 1996, and yes I have been through an audit. I got a clean slate .
My operation is debt free also, as I dont borrow money, personally or in buisness. It is not rocket science I agree, but the fact is 70% of the new authoritys granted dont make it through the first year.
I always encourage guys to go for it, but I like to tell them what they are getting into. As you know some guys are used to being leased to a carrier and having a dispatcher lead them around and make all their decisions. LOL
Good Luck to Ya, and may you Prosper and make lots of Dough.
What are the benefits of having your own athourity

Need help from you all.
I own ..... no payments for a 2000 pete with 500,000 miles.
It needs brakes and tires. I have the title.
I also have a solid job making over 60,000 a year with benefits.
Yes. I will need a bank loan to get going, but what freight would you chase if I decided to get my own authority? No van. Maybe end dump for scrap or shredded metals.
Need some advice. The tractor is paid for, but before I put 25,000 in to it, I need to know EXACTLY which path to take.
Thanks.Steel Dragon Thanks this. -
Ran under my own authority for years now I'm currently leased on and its a whole lot easier when you lease on specialy if they have a good fuel surcharge program my co. makes adj. every week, and will never go back to running my own auyhority ..........
SM_D and Steel Dragon Thank this. -
Could lease on to a container outfit. They get me plates and insurance. Run their DOT and MC. 48 state tags
$500 a day. 40% of gross to FSC.
You know.
But it might seem too good to be true. 2500 a week + 1000.
Take out 81 per week for tags.
They cover cargo
Good or not really...... They own me, but it is a startSteel Dragon Thanks this. -
