Maybe some stores such as Lowes or Home Depot.

 

If after 3 years you decide to do interstate driving, you may want to check with D.O.T. and various other states. If I am not mistaken, many states will not let a resident with vision in only 1 eye drive at all, including a regular car. You may want to check to be sure that you would be legally able to pass thru those states while driving to other destinations.

A D.O.T waiver supersedes all state laws. Can not drive in Canada. All the states i know of only require 2 side view mirrors for non CDL. Had a DL since the 70's

 

Sorry if this sounds blunt, but I think you will be lucky to find a company worth anything to drive for. There is simply too much at stake these days. Not saying you can't find one..just saying one that is worth anything as far as wages and benefits are concerned. I knew a guy several years ago with the same issue regarding sight in one eye that could not be corrected with eyeglasses. He was well experienced with a good safety record but the company he was with let him go when the sight issue came up. He finally went to work intrasate for a shoddy mom/pop outfit that paid literally nothing after not being able to land anything else. He had a intrastate driving medical waiver from DOT to be able to do it. Good luck to you.

 

It is not medical OR find an Intrastate Co. to drive for.
It IS get a medical waiver and drive Intrastate for 3 years before you can drive Interstate.

You have to get a state waiver first and this only allows you to drive INSTATE ONLY. You will need to document the years & miles driven in the 3 years before you apply for the government waiver to drive Interstate.
If you want to check on this you can call the government DOT and ask them but that is what they will tell you.

How do I know all this you ask? I just got a waiver as I have 20/60 sight in 1 eye and you need 20/40 to pass for your med card.
Now for the state waiver here in CT not all the information is listed on line. I found this out when I called them to see where my waiver was and they told me they needed more forums filled out that they sent me as they are not on line either.
I got this information by calling the CT DMV Commissioner office / medical dept. it may be different for your state?
Once you have the waiver you need to get your med card and once you have that here in CT you go on line to “self-certify” and this is where you get to mark your license for Interstate only. I already had a class B CDL So I was given 14 days to get it marked as Interstate or it was no good.
The day I had that done I took my Class A permit with tanker & doubles/triples endorsements test so the waiver was added to both CDL cards.

BTW if you are in school and need your permit by so’n’so date you may want to get the waiver before you start school. My school did not know the details of the waiver just that there was one so I had to find out all this information on my own and passed it on to them. Not that it will do any good as the person (director) was let go and I am sure the info gone with him?

That is not someone that should be driving a 4-wheelie, much less a big rig.

Blind one eye, and then head out on the road.

 

Where are you located? My dad is blind in one eye, well for most part, and he drives pump truck for local oilfield company in Texas.
