Portable TV Option for company driver that slip seats?

I slip seat and use my I pad

 

TV rots your brain and is a mind control device used by Big Brother. Read a book instead.

 

How about a portable DVD player?

 

For the last 2 years I have watched a lot of TV over my laptop using a portable Hotspot Just go to the Bing home page click on video and do a search virtually any show that has ever been televised in any language everspoken is aviable I binge watched the whole Twin peaks series over the weekend you can also catch up on your local TV news directly by just typing in the call letters. even if you are across the country. laptops a pretty reasonable priced and are totally portable. My Hotspot is a Virgin Moble I pay 35 month and as long as you can recive 4 G there is no data cap. there is also a adapter aviable from Amazon 20 bucks that allows you to hook it to a car antenna for improved reception. I get 5 bars Having a laptop will also allow you to google your delivery point and will give you driving directions. all stuff that dident exist 15 years ago whene I was driving. Im old school and had to learn how to read maps.

 

So what you are proposing is to get a tv to listen to while your driving???? Sounds like distracted driving. Even if you are in the passenger seat, it will be a distraction to the other driver.

If you just need the news, get a sirus or xm radio and listen to the news.

As to data plans, wifi it with a tablet. I bought a tablet some 6 years ago, havent paid a dime for data yet. It doesnt have to be a apple product. Plenty of ways to get free news feeds or other programming. Search the internet for "Free tv online" to find alot of the shows that you might be missing.

In another forum some one was talking about boosters for wifi / cell service (not cheap). Yet portable TV's are pretty much dead.

Local over-the-air signals are spotty depending on where you are that night. But the Winegard product link you posted from my page is a good option for slip-seating because it is so portable and it picks up well. The amplified one picks up stuff further, but even the non-amped will pick up pretty well.

So if you have a small 12-volt TV, or a TV tuner card for a laptop, or small 120 volt TV and a cigarette plug inverter - it can be done only limited by what channels are broadcasting within 25 - 65 miles or so around you.

For a good way to look at it, use the following page and type in a city or zip code and do a search. It will show you a Google map of them and which direction they are in. It also makes a table below. Watch for the "Power" column in the table. Obviously the higher the power, the further you will get that channel away. (link to finder: http://www.antennapoint.com/)
