Funny you mention Frac fueling.... Yep, if it IS a Frac fueling job, not much driving also. I just interviewed with a company in S.A. for that position. They said they would verify my background by last Friday and contact me by Monday but no call back from them yet. One suggestion is maybe get on with the fuel company that offered you the position and then work yourself to driving the fuel to location. There are fuel drivers, one who drives the tanker class A to location to load the fuel to class b frac fueler's truck. So, maybe you can work as a frac fueler first and then lead up to the transporter job.
Class A with X endorsement, but only Class B experience. Seeking TX oilfield work...

I have thought about taking that route you just described. Are you gonna accept it? What was the pay and schedule if you dont mind me asking?
-
Had a verbal temp offer and was waiting for a confirmation but they didn't call or respond to my follow up email that I sent to them today. So, not sure if they will offer it to me. There wasn't really a schedule according to them, you were out there until job was done. They also didn't tell me what I was going to be paid but range was seventeen to twenty. I'm taking this silence as a no go at this point but if they were to offer it to me, I might have taken it since i'm north of S.A. and depending what they offered.

So did you ever hear from that company? Who was it? I am heading down to South TX in 2 weeks to see what I can come up with. My twin lives in S.A. so I really prefer South TX over West TX. Think that would help me get out of a man camp sometimes -
San Angelo or San Antonio? Big Lake is only 75 miles from San Angelo. Also, are you actually closer to Dallas or Ft Worth? I have a friend whose son works for CAB Logistics. I think they haul sand but they may do other stuff also. You may want to check them out.

Turns out they actually did respond by email but ended up in the wrong folder. Still in the process so don't want to say too much yet. But, according to them, they could work anywhere, even out of TX.

Thanks for the great info.
Any clue on the conditions of Sanjel's man camps and if you have to share a room if you stay at the La Quinta Inn? -
Personally, I didn't like it since it's pretty thin and could hear someone walking on the other end of the hallway from your room. You're not able to get out and about but there is a fitness area there if you want to workout. The cafeteria is all you can eat and provides what you want along with premaid meal. You can also take food from the cafeteria to take on the site for lunch and/or dinner.
Man camp is not share but La Quinta is. They may have changed things but it was same shift sharing so you are with some one in your shift. They were trying to change it so that you are sharing with opposite shift but I think they voted against it. Again, not sure if they are sharing with opposite shift or same shift but they ARE sharing rooms unless if you are a crew cabber or engineer but even then I think they may.
If you have a choice, I would go W. TX vs. South because you will get per diem but they changed that too I think. They were giving per diem automatically if you went to w. tx but think they changed it to only if you are out in the field and they don't cater.
Texas Bound Thanks this. -
Thanks for taking the time to write all that out. Without your post I wouldn't know what the Cibolo yard was all about. Still seems like a good gig since I'm looking to work a 2/1 schedule.
