Jobless into truck drivers

Since when is trucking just a "job"? It's not like training at McDonald's on how to make burgers. With training, anyone can do it, sure, but how's it going to affect safety? What about the hometime? What about the fact that 80% of them are going to quit within 6 months, throwing that money down the trash? Why don't they put it in a fund where anyone who WANTS to can go to the CDL course for free and get a job they want to do?

 

I agree with you CMORE.
If they don't want to drive, then they should not be trained to drive. It will be a waste of money. They would be better off to place an add with free truck driver training. Get people in the jobs that actually want to drive.
It will hopefully give these people a better shot in the industry than a swift CDL mill would, that they would have to shell out the cash.

The funny thing is how many of these people are going to fail the drug tests. I personally feel those on welfare should be subjected to random urine tests, seeing as they're taking money you and I are paying in. But that's another subject altogether.

 

if these people wanted to work they would already have a job . truck driver training has been around a long time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Good for them, I hope the program turns out to be a success.
