Absolutely. Your least payment is based upon your miles. It's calculated at 18¢ - 23¢ per mile turned in.

how often does payroll make a booboo. Hubby turned in a trip from CA To WI had 2171 miles on this trip. He said it was turned in on time he just did a follow up. not sure how JCT does it do they fix it for pay for tomorrow or does it get on next week check. A bit surprised when i saw a Negative balance of over 300.00. Once I saw that I immediately got on the horn with hubby to let him know that way its not a shock factor for him he said hes on the phone right now. I told him they will fix it it might be fixed today or it might be a good check or better check next week. I said there is food in the house the bills are paid and all is ok. Not in the poor house over this

Do screw ups happen? Yes, but not often. I'm guessing mine was screwed up 10x in over 5 years...pretty darn good accuracy percentage in my book. The usual screw ups are reimbursements. Items such as lumpers, tolls and washouts are the usual culprits.

Entire trips not being paid are usually the result of payroll not getting a trip on time. There is an easy check system that hubby can do each week to make sure his trips get paid. Each Friday around 10 am payroll sends out a message over the Qualcomm listing the trips along with items to be paid. He can check each trip with his records to ensure everything is there. For instance, if he turned in a lumper receipt on a trip and lumper receipt is not listed on the Qualcomm he can contact payroll on Friday to get issue resolved instead of having a bad surprise on Wednesday.

A reminder about trip cutoff; payroll must have trips before midnight on Thursday/Friday am. That means trips must be dropped in Trip-Pak box before the pickup on Wednesday. If you scan a trip (which I strongly do not recommend as you will pay $6-$12 each trip.) The deadline is still Thursday night/Friday morning at midnight. He still must drop the trip in Trip-Pak box and check the scan box on the trip envelope.

There are also deadlines and procedures involving "late trips" which I won't get into as they are more complicated unless you need me to.

It happens. Happened to me a couple times, but they always fixed it by the next settlement. Everyone makes mistakes, even software.

Glad this load is done and over with. Lexington, Ne to Vernon, Ca to Stockton, Ca to Vernon, Ca.

No, I didn't make a mistake typing that. Made the first Vernon stop at Whole Foods (Thursday). They sign my bills clear and let me go. I get to the Stockton drop the next morning and they take what they get. I go to close the doors and there is still two full pallets of beef there. I go ask receiving clerk if they left some of their product on my trailer.

They tell me no. So, I call OS&D and tell her what I think happened. I think Whole Foods left their 32 cases of rib eye on the trailer. She puts us on a conference call with Tyson. We tell Tyson what happened. She puts us on hold and calls Whole Foods. They didn't off load it at all. So, Tyson says that we need to go back to Vernon. I tell them I could be back that day (Friday) but it will be about half an hour after they close. I get set up to be there today (Saturday) between 0600-0700.

I get back to Vernon and go check in and told that they don't receive meat on Saturdays. I explain that I am suppose to be here and why. He tells me that the supervisor is on lunch and come back in half and hour. I go back in half later. Talk to the supervisor. She thought I was gonna be there yesterday. I explain that I could have been, but you would have been closed. I'm told to pick a random door to back to and come back in. So, I do. The lumper off loaded the two pallets and counted that there are 32 cases. Informs the supervisor who then signs my bills again. And now I waiting for a load out of here and currently parked on the street next to Whole Foods.

The supervisor also explained to me that they offload the trucks, sign the bills, let's the truck leave, then count later on. I explain to her what could have happened and how they would not have a claim because they signed the bills in full and how a dishonest driver would have easily sold 32 cases of ribeye for $50 a box. She tells me that she never thought of it that way and gonna a put pressure on the management above her to change the policy.

Hope you get paid for that and that it is not counted as driver error for their mistake. I know that when I unloaded some windows at a stop one time they signed that they had everything and off I went. Got to last stop 3 hours away and find they left one window on trailer. Called my boss and the response was you are to make sure everything is off the truck. I said that they helped get it off checked everything and said they had it all. We don't care you are responsible for making sure. I just brought it back to plant and they put it on another truck headed that way the following week. I am a company driver and it is just funny at the rules they come up with just to make themselves look good.

I always thought that a driver could make money selling product that was left on the truck, but any time I had extra stuff, I always had a hard time giving it away.

Oh, and parking in Vernon must SUCK. I went to a cold storage place in Vernon once in order to pick up some burritos. I took the load to TN, WV, Abingdon, VA and then near Norfolk, VA. At the last stop there were some damaged cases, and I ended up handing out 5 or 6 burritos at a time to other drivers at the DC.

Whenever I had a pickup in SoCal, I always just waited in Ontario and drove into LA with just enough time to arrive at the DC and make the pickup. I never wanted to try to find parking and then have to worry about my trailer getting tagged. Clean white trucks are just too much of a temptation to taggers. I never worried about parking anywhere else in the country, but in LA, it's just too risky.

Yeah. I got paid to go back. And its not considered drivers fault. Most grocery warehouse don't allow on the dock. They just some back ### wards steps in the process.

Could have been worse like them calling up and saying they were SHORT by 32 CASES of ribeye based on their unload and count later method
