I think you're doing a great thing by getting into flats first. I loved flatbed work, it feels very rewarding after getting loading and securing your load down. Now i load my own trailer and I'm just happy if I don't spill anything haha.
Good luck to you driver, TMC has some nice rigs. -
If the OP gets his time in, then can get a local gig like I did, he won't be in a truck all day and he can do physical work. He's just gotta tough it out for a year or two

Right. I'm not a guy who wants to spend 24 hours in a truck all day that's what I mean. Trucking is for me something about shifting gears and sitting up high gives me an ultimate high ... Thanks for the advice tho Applacian Trucker lol
DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
I'm the same way, driving trucks is my passion. Gives me a feeling like no other. It's definitely a career I love

You're out of NC, I"d go with Watkins Shepard to build experience for 2yrs than the world is your oyster!...I would also not go with TMC only because they run very slow trucks, personally, I just couldn't run below the speed limit all day, too frustrating...
I have friends with Boyd Brothers working flatbeds, they are happy...Just remember, you'll find good and bad about all companies, read as much as you can here and hope for the best!...
One other thing that's great at WS is no BS trainer time...You won't be stuck in a small truck with someone that may stink or annoys the piss out of you 24.7...If you have common sense, you don't need trainer time, weigh it out for yourself...Good luck!
