The reason I say "truck drivers like free pie"
is because I once was offered free pie at a Perkins rest located at the T/A in Knoxville..free pie to all CDL drivers!!
Just fill out this card with name.experience.phone#
A week later I started getting JBHunt recruiters calling me Day/Night..
Finally I got mad and asked how the heck did you get my phone#?
He said.."You ate the free pie"..
I gotta hand it to JB..that was pretty creative recruiting.
Where is the best place to recruit drivers?

Come on, you can admit it. You really want to work there.

Where ever you see a Western Express driver

Your supposed to to use someone else's name and number. Preferably someone you don't like or has pissed you off.Lazydog Thanks this.

I dont have anything against Melton.
But what takes many guys 4 - 5 years, I've accomplished in 3. Hiring my first driver in Jan and sometime between March and June (Hopefully) I'll have my second truck and trailer.
My end goal is to have 5 - 7 trucks, nothing crazy. Keep it as simple as possible. Try keep my drivers respect and hopefully life stays good and I can spend more time at home.
That or I have a mental break down and stroke after my 3rd truck and they feed me apple sauce with a bib for the remainder of my days.
Either way, I'll be fine.
Edit:

I was wondering who was calling me. I almost answered because the area code matched a couple brokers I deal with.
Glad I didnt.
They were not there for me when I needed them. Kinda like trying to get those digits from that hot girl you met. She had eyes on a better prospect,.. now I have what she's looking for,. how ever,.. I've moved on and married. Much happier.

Slow pokes if it takes them that long. I now got 2 drivers working for me with 2 rigs, on the way to a 3rd. Less then 3 year until i hire first driver

Are you financing or paying cash for your equipment?
I'm trying to avoid financing anything. But next spring I'm not sure. I have enough cash for brand new trailer that I want. But it will mean financing 90% of the truck I want. Or 50% down on the truck and finance both.
How are you aquiring your equipment?
Also.. are you paying your driver percentage or mileage. I think percentage would be easier. But guy I want to hire wants to be paid by the mile. I think he'd make more money with percentage.. I can go either way.
