I drive a sand can in and around Texas and yes sand is getting harder to get, I have heard the larger companies are buying it up locally and it's harder to get the amount needed on our PO's for each well. Their are times when I drive 300 miles for a load of sand and other times only 35. As far as rates it seems most decent companies are pretty close in comparison, the co. i'm leased onto pays $650 up to 100 miles with anything over at a rate of $6.50 a loaded mile. Deadhead miles are $1.20 a mile. Another co. out here pays 0-50 miles @$415.00 per load, 51-100 miles@$535.00 per load,101-150@ $655.00 a load, 151-200@ 775.00, 201-250@ $975.00, 251-300 @ 1,175.00 and over 300 is $1,175.00 plus $4.20 a mile. most of your demurrage rates are around the $60.00 to $80.00 an hour rate. Our two trucks make between 8 and 10 k a week on average, sure their will be better weeks and not so good weeks but OIL WELL it is what it is. hope this helps. Drill Baby Drill.

the 8-10k a week is per truck right? thanks for the useful info Desertlites. If your 8-10k is per truck then your numbers are very close to my expectations. I already have the 1000cfm blower and a 1050 sand trailer. just finishing small stuff with the truck before putting it to work.

Sounds like rates aren't much lower in TX than PA.

Those trucks that have the slogan "Drill baby Drill" are some of the nicest trucks I've seen in the oil field.

I have always found that is best to tell the names of companies that don't pay or are slow paying, when word gets around who they are they usually pay up to keep things quiet. Don't keep it a secret who the dead beats are,,might save some one else from getting screwed.

Sure. What do you pay? Would they be your employee or a 1099 deal? What kind of medical you provide? How often home? Fancy, big truck?(fancier the truck, cheaper drivers will work).
