They need to be secured. If they're flopping around, of course they're going to come loose. Ratchets work quite well if you work them right.

 

Interesting....Once I tighten down a ratchet binder they rarely get loose. What kind of product are you securing? Make sure the little flip for tightening and loosening is always on the tightening side till you are ready to loosen your chains. I have even used ratchet binders with the removable handles and they never came loose.

 

Hi i just had question. I am starting with ls in few weeks , live in jax fl and planning to haul lighter van loads to midwest or tx drive couple more short ones and get something decent back to fl for weekend once again is there any money in doing it this way or i would have to modify ? Really not looking to haul heavy stuff!!! Ty any input will be greatly appreciated

 

If you only want to haul light loads, you may find it difficult to keep moving. With Landstar it will be entirely up to you to find and book your own loads. You may also sacrifice revenue with lower rates if you only want to run specific lanes.

I'm wounding about the class B lease landstar shows on there web sit.
Is it just ref. and teams? If not do they have much freight out of the northeast?

Maine is that not the dead a major dead spot for shipping like southern Florida ? I do know is see landstar B out in the northeast atleast up in to CT. Only got into Maine 2 in 10years though so no clue sorry

 

Once you have completed orientation you will be able to use the load board and all of the features of it. There is a feature of the board that will let you search for agents loading in and around your area as well as find agents from your destination points. If your goal is to primarily stay in this area start working this feature and make cold calls to these agents. Once they know who you are you will start being called by them. It might take a few months but I think you could make something come together.

 

Is it possible to work for LS if I dont already have a truck? How easy it hard would it be to get one, and if I wanted to get something between 2006-2008, how low could I get my payments and interest rates?

 

You can apply to LS without a truck and then get one after your approved.

The 2nd part of your question, all of that would be dependent on your credit……..

 

To add to nik's post on the second, Landstar doesn't sell/lease trucks, you have to bring your own.
