8.4 man that is super! What'd you say you got? a purple Kenworth T 680? That might be the way to go Jar Head, Fuel mileage trumps everything!

It's nice to hear you're happy.

65K in what kind of schedule and operation?
I can earn 65K as a company driver just by not taking much time off.

How many days off do you take off per week/month?
    What lanes do you run?

I am solo. I have not trained or gone TnT. I have saved a lot, but with a house payment, a car payment, and a motorcycle payment obliviously I haven't paid off the house in 11 months on $65k a year. I work 3 to 4 weeks and then I take 5-7 days off. I stay as far away from the NE as I can. I like to run the deep south and Midwest. I seem to make so much more per month when I have no loads in the NE. I understand that loads going into the NE pay well, and that loads going out don't. I have found that if I can avoid it all together I do well. My best 7 day period so far is $6,200. Yes that is one week of loads, not a partial carry over from the previous week. I do have a t680 it's a 2014 and runs great. I am so happy with the entire Prime experience. Seriously, I have loved every second of it.

As far as how I did this...honestly...I'm not 100% sure. I ALWAYS arrive as early as possible. I ALWAYS call the shipper or receiver and to see if they have an open slot from someone that was late or didn't show to see if they will move my appointment time up. I ALWAYS dress nice when I am representing Prime and myself. I have heard more times than I can count that professional attitude and a respectable appearance goes a long way. I promise you that it does.

That all sounds great in my opinion, you're certainly doing better than any company driver can.. plus no Northeast.

So when you stay you stay away from the Northeast.. Prime respects that and allows you to run only areas you want?

I have been approved to go to Prime and Schneider to lease.
Figuring with either one I can do better than being a company driver.
Still can't decide which place to go though.

When I spoke to prime they told me they have tons of Freight in the Northeast, a lot of short 100-250 mile runs that pay $5-$8 a mile.
    If that's true, I don't know.

What kind of rates are you getting to the truck running the midwest?

KWs are usually a special buy made to round out tractor acquisition numbers when Freightliner and Peterbilt can't supply enough to meet requirements. I understand Prime is back to not buying more of them.

I got one of those trucker papers with jobs on it and saw a cover with Prime advertising "Prime choices" Pick your truck, color and etc at Prime.
Every Freightliner I had broke down on me, multiple times. Everyone I had .. water would come into the cab when it rained.
Crete sent me to recover an abandoned truck today.. told me it was a freightliner, I get there and the truck had 9 fault codes and was broken.
If I ever pay for a truck if it be buying or leasing it's not going to be a Crapcadia.

That's nice. If Crete actually maintained their trucks properly they wouldn't have that kind of problem. Good luck wipper...
