It would save time if brokers would post better information, including the rate. I had one broker tell me once that he didn't post the rate because he didn't want his competitors to know his rate and then go in and undercut his rate with the shipper. Some will post loads they don't even have under contract. It would help carriers and save time if more accurate information was posted.

Many landstar agents get all their loads from brokers off the load boards,,landstar drivers can only haul loads thru agents. For years I have seen loads posted in the boards by brokers that show up a few minutes later on landstars driver board or broker boards,, The original brokers posts the load and take 25% of the revenue paid by the shipper,,then a landstar agent gets the load from the broker and landstar takes an other 25% leaving the truck that hauls the load with only about 50% of the original freight rate paid by the shipper,,a double broker load,
Landstar does not care because if the load can be moved by the lanstar agent either on a landstar truck or rebrokered landstar makes money,
many loads from landstar and doubled brokered loads.
A couple years ago I saw a landstar load posted for $12,000 then on a load board 4 more brokers posting the same load for $13,000 to $18,000.
After a few calls I found out who the first broker was and he paid me $24,000 to haul the load,,

A good broker will list all the correct facts about the load and the truck pay as well as paying the truck in 7 days or less with no quick pay deductions,

I never tell a broker where I am going or where I want to go, unless I am working with one I trust and there is only a couple.

As far as posted the nearest big city to generate interest, isn't it our responsibility as business people to know where the City is? I mean if they post the actual city and people don't know the city, and don't look it up, isn't that dumb on their part? When they post the nearest big city all they are doing is lying.. I think of all the times I called and found out that the load actually picked up in a different city that was listed, I only took one load. Just put the truth, whatever you put but don't try and help out business people that should know how to look up a town. I go through the process of looking up the town, the route and the final,,,according to the load board info. Only to find out that I have to do that all over again because they lied about the pickup city and final destination.

TQL is notorious for posting the same load 5 times with different cities listed as the pickup and delivery point. To me this just stinks of fraud. I don't understand half the #### this broker does and to think they train their brokers to be deceitful.
