I'll give them a try, but I don't meet the TWIC requirement. That's something that I'll have to look into getting. They're the first place that I've seen that requires it, though I've seen a few that encourage applicants to get one.

Hard to get local with no experience, I've tried and still working at it. I'm 3 months in now , did otr for 1 month but wanted more hometime so I jumped into western 11 which is 12-2 been doing that for the last 2 months. I just got a job offer doing regional jc penney acct CA, NV and ARZ its 5-2 home on weekends . I got lucky they only wanted 3 months experience so I just qualified. Keep looking , at the same time gain some experience you'll find something. Good luck!

Abilene Motor Express out of Richmond VA might be your best choice. Ask for Sally or Sean Moriarty.

I talked to Van Wyk this morning. You have to sign a one year commitment/contract, lol.

I recently graduated from a CDL school just south of Fredericksburg and am awaiting a background check and urinalysis test to be hired on with an LTL company out of Stafford. They required Haz-Mat, Doubles/Triples and Tanker endorsement. If you have a clean record (driving and criminal) and obtain the endorsements your chances of staying local will greatly increase. I also got some pre hires from companies that advertise being home every weekend. Good luck to ya.
