Well here is the story, I have 7 months local experience and cant seem to find a OTR job anywhere, I moved from Florida to Texas thinking I'm in a better area and it dont seem that way. The only thing I have working against me is 7 points on my MVR( 06 & 07) and the local experience and of course I can get on with Jb Hunt but dont know if I want to risk that but it seems like that is becoming my only choice. Does anybody have any ideas or know anybody that is looking for a driver?![]()
Still looking not going so good

7 months experience and 7 points against your license? Rotsa ruck, Shaggy. If JB'll take ya, that may be your only shot to get some experience and let those points "go away".
-
I didnt think 7 points was all that bad. Is it worth it to go with JB Hunt? I still need something that pays some what decent because I have a family to feed. I just dont want to go with them and they sit me across the us and not bringing in any money, which I know happens in this business but it seems like it happens more with JB.

As for the 7 points...not that bad? Look at my reaction to it, and I'm not even someone who is gonna accept or refuse your application for a driving job. I've had a license for almost 25 years, and I've never had 1 point, ever, so 7 in 2 years is quite a bit to me. Especially for someone who wants to drive an 80000# rolling bomb down the highway at high rates of fuel consumption.
I'm not trying to be a jerk, just trying to give you the response that a recruiter/HR person would. Like I said, if you want to "pay your dues" and get some time in the seat, go for it with JB or whoever, and then move on to greener pastures. Personally I'd give a shot to some other big companies first and see what happens.
Best of luck to ya though. -
No Thanks I like it with no BS, ya my driving record was good for 7 years and had some mishaps but you learn and move on I guess. I'm determined to get in the business and I guess I'll keep on pushing untill I find something.
