You're welcome.Nothing wrong in my book with your friend quitting right after he got his CDL.But carriers don't think too kindly of the idea.
Is it normal to go to a company sponsored CDL school but not work for that company?

In Va, my state, Community college training is offered that is $3200 at Blue Ridge Community College.... much less than the $5200 mentioned earlier in this thread... up to 6 thousand at a commercial school is the norm.Spacat1 Thanks this. -

Are you in West Virginia too? Boone county truck driving academy is actually really good. It's 5 weeks I believe and they do a little bit more than just get you ready to pass the test. I know the instructors will take you out in the mountains a lot. You won't be a super trucker when you're done of course but it's much better than most curriculum I've looked into. One of the instructors is a friend of the family, real nice guy and knows his stuff.
