Im looking into expanding my horizons with a couple more hydraulic RGN's. all i have experience with is the Fontaine Magnitude 55 ton. i feel like there is so many makers out there and i know a few of you will have better observations on which trailers hold up the best and are the easiest to operate in a variety of weather and climates. a triple axle with options for a stinger would work great which i know most manufactures have the ability for stingers. so i ask what would you buy? Thank you in advanced!
What Hydraulic RGN would you buy?

Trail King/ Aspen/ Cozad / LoadKing
-
what do you like about the Trail King VS the aspen and the latter? i thank you for responding its a big payment and i want to make the right decision.
-
don't buy a XL Specialized,,junk and they will fight any warranty work,,call Doonan in Kansas they make a good trailer,,
-
Well alot of it is personal choice. I have pulled Trail King trailers alot and yes they do make a good trl. if you let them build it. When you start to lighten the trl. then that causes problems.
Most hyd. necks are all the same style, just some things changed a little to avoid copyright issues.
Cozad is a good west coast company for trl. building. Spendy though. -
Just curious, what don't you like with your Fontaine?
Full disclosure- I currently have the same trlr & stinger, bought new 6/13. -
I know 3 guys that really like their fontains. Another that says talbert or nothing.
-
I like my fontaine very well. I don't have any experience with any other manufactures. so I was posing the question to see if there is any better options. I am thinking I will stick with fontaines that way all my repair parts will be the same down the road. how much did your stinger run you mudguppy? just out of curiosity. Thanks!

I'll have to check with my boss in the morning.(I'm a company driver) but I think it was in the $35k range (spreader & axle).

The neck lifting up beyond the notches is the good part about the fontaine...you can get yourself up and over some decent stuff on jobsites.
macavoy Thanks this.
