It was a year later when they called me back, I suppose when they were needing drivers much worse and or .... when they had brought in a lot of the new 9 speeds. But at this point I wonder why I would do flatbed when you can get about the same cpm with van companies on regional runs. Are you looking for a company ?

I see, that's interesting they would have kept you on file that long.

No, not yet. I'll be lurking for quite a while longer before making the jump. I understand your question about flatbedding. For myself, I'll be flatbedding because the freight is more interesting, as are - I would imagine - the delivery locations.

I suppose it is hard to find new drivers with a clean record and no fear of a dot drug screen and I like to think I didnt give them too much attitude. I was disappointed with not picking up the 13 quicker but oh well I do prefer a 10 spd. Have you used a 13 or 18 ? I do know what you mean about the interesting freight and it does look cool some of the stuff flatbedders get to hall ! Aaaan I would need the experience if I were ever to attempt my day dream of ice road trucking.
I know they exaggerate everything on that show but its still fun to watch

Neither - I'm a wannabe. I'd like to be driving now, but hitting the road is my early retirement plan, and the timing isn't right yet.

Tmc is always looking for drivers. Flatbedding takes a different breed of driver. You have to be willing to play in the snow, rain, -40 or 110 degree days. Tmc pays percentage as well as mileage, and I can guarantee percentage pays better than their mileage pay as well.

Even more so once you get your snap shot in. I got a 3% bump in a month, just doing my job.
