Always roll mine up and finish by going up through the centre and creating a hitch out of it because I had a driver just roll it and stuff it between strap and trailer and the strap came loose and the tail went under the wheels and rip the product off the trailer.

I fold the excess up and secure back to the strap with two wraps of gorilla tape, when you unload just give the loops a quick tug and the tape rips. I have had bungees come off and the strap end get loose before so now I tape them.

I think this is what I do but I'm not sure cuz the wording is hard to comprehend.
Thanks for the video, a lot easier to grasp, that's a variation of what I use to do.

I'm not a fan of putting it under the ratchet handle, I've had them come loose. I either do like the video, or stuff it into nearest 4" pocket (last fold down) <---so it doesn't fall out the bottom.

I bought some of the mesh bags they sell at truckstops and put on all my ratchet straps , the excess strap goes in the bag and when the handle is folded down it keeps it in the bag, but also zip ties are cheap when bought at harbor freight, but you can actually buy reusable zip ties.

whats cheaper a zip tie or a strap getting tangled up in a tire and wheel?

For the 4" straps they mostly say on the winch (some days up to 5 loads running local) but in the winter they get taking off and put in the cab so they don't freeze. I then fold up the extra and tuck it between the trailer and strap. much like the video but in a neater way. For 2" and hand ratchets depending on my mood and if the the load comes past the rub rail (96" trailer) I will tuck the extra in the loop the ratchet makes. Also you can make a fold of about 16" and tuck one end into the rub rail fold it over and tuck the other end into the rub rail next to it.

Ill take some some pics later today of what I have sitting in the yard to make it clear. Explaining something like that is a challenge for me sometimes- :/
