central florida cdl training

Check the community college programs in Central Florida. Roadmasters and other private schools are there also, but the community colleges are much, much cheaper.

 

CT you're right about the community colleges. Much cheaper and much more thorough with their training. I was never impressed with the private outfits like Roadmasters. I thought they were a bit of a rip off. There's another outfit too that charges a high fee for tuition. The only snag with the college route is the time factor. It takes awhile to complete the course so you have to be able to afford the downtime. I used to live in Orlando and started off with a company who trained.

Check out mid FL tech they have a 300+hr program and is only like 2-3k instead of 6k for roadmaster TDI etc of the cdl mills

National Training in Green Cove Springs is where I went. Really like their private road course to practice shifting on.

 

I also attended national training. Their private track is great for learning to shift before you go out onto public roads.

 

Bradford Union in Starke is a 320 hr course. private track and backing pad. 2800 dollars

 

Pinellas Technical College (formerly known as pTEC) in St. Petersburg has a 320-Hour, 10 week program. Last year it was $2,400. If payment is a problem, also check out a "WIA" grant (Workforce Investment Act) at the jobs center. It's called "Career Source Pinellas", and is actually attached to the back side of the school (3420 8th Avenue South St. Petersburg, FL 33711)

Finally, if a WIA grant doesn't work, the school does have a "trust fund" to inquire about for covering your tuition.
