So my question is which one of the carriers is better for an owner operator. I have done Intermodal for JB as an employee a year and a half ago until they got rid of the Chicago - WI run and got rid of the $25.00, drop and hook. I know hear from company drivers both 18 years with jb that all the good loads go to the o/o's, and the company drivers get no miles. So I need to know what the miles and pay really are at both carriers so I can make a knowledge based decision. I don't believe either companies recruiters. Thank you, in advance.
P.s., I would take some advise about just going with CH Robinson, as well.
O/O- JB Hunt or The Hub Group

Get this. They separated the WI and IA boards and there is a Chiil-WI board again. Not only that, we actually have an office in Green Bay again. They reinstated the drop pay, upped the live unload pay to $45. So couple a live unload, with a potential of detention pay, add the congestion pay.... last week, I averaged 60 cpm.
Stick around long enough and you will see things come full circle.
But from what I have heard is stay away from JB O/O. Not seeing as many o/o as we used to up in WI.Last edited: Nov 10, 2014
hammer lane Thanks this. -
If your going to go the owner operator route Hub would probably be the better bet.

Thank you. What experience do you have/know about hub?

As JB Hunt is part of the Trucking Alliance bunch, I would have nothing to do with them.
