I was in a wreck last year and work comp started screwing with me. So I got tired of getting screwed and got a lawyer. Do what your lawyer tell you and stay the course. If you really get hurt and bills start piling up, just stay the course. They will either let you have surgery or settle with you. I settled for 6 figures cuz it was too much money to pass up. 11 months so now I'm just waiting on my check. Any questions?
If you ever get injured, get a work comp lawyer...

Are you still covered by comp if the wreck was your fault? Say for example you were speeding or the load shifts due to improper securement or something like that? I imagine you are still covered?

How much of the settlement is going to the lawyer?

workmans comp covers an employee injured on the job no matter who is at fault,,that is if the company or employer has workmans comps ins,,many companies illegally classify drivers as contractors and do not have workmans comp ins on their drivers,,

I disagree to a point. Most of the time all a lawyer can do is make sure you get your benefit payments. That's what I saw anyway. The lawyer just asked every visit was "are you getting paid". If you are a case that is well established then 9 times out of 10 there will be payments with no interruptions. You can do everything that lawyer can do and save some cash. If you are getting screwed then yes I would say get a lawyer but not until all steps taken by you are expended.

I was empty pulling a tanker on my way back to the yard and the guy ran the stop sign, so I wasn't at fault

Doesn't matter who is at fault. In my state they have Dept of labor and industries, these people are paid based on ratings. The ratings are based on how many cases they have closed, so the more people they screw, the bigger the paychecks! They will try to starve you!
The main thing I like about contract driving is knowing I am not supporting them turds!rev13 Thanks this.
