Lack of common sense and general stupidity are guilty as charged.

GPS cleared of all charges, after someone realized that guy would have ended up somewhere dumb regardless of who gave him directions.

 

I just use the Qualcomm for directions to the general area of my shipper and consignee. I double check the route with my atlas and then use google maps to see how to get onto the property. Oh yeah, and I try to use common sense.

 

One of the truckers that came on base had a GPS that did truck routing to be fuel efficient and route around underpass that were too low. I want to say it was a Garmin but I'm not sure. Was a truck specific one.

 

There's no chance in the world that a truck GPS, probably not even a car GPS told him to be on that road. Anyone that spent even a minute reading about this would see that the NEW driver had some form of mental disability.

 

Do have even the smallest bit of a sense of humor?

 

Maybe he had it on walking route

 

I'd say that's fairly obvious from his comment that "He was following his GPS."

 

I get really offended when people blame GPS for their screw ups. I LOVE my GPS!
I literally would not leave home in the truck without my Rand McNally. I loves it! It is precious to me!
