Health care cost in this country is off the charts. I have a hard time paying a doctor or hospital money for a professional field that they advertise "Practicing" in. Maybe trucking should advertise the same "Practicing" techniques. My wife was going over just one part of the bill, our insurance company was billed $100 for 4 sanitary napkins, really? My wife doesn't spend that much for the 10 boxes she buys for a whole year. I'm fortunate enough to have my lawyer who handled my business sale to also be a forensic accountant, I won't hesitate one bit to have him go over this bill with a fine tooth comb. I've always paid my bills, taken care of all my financial obligations, but $100 for 4 sanitary pads? Nope, not on this deal. Rant over, I'm sure there will be more to follow. Now on to our regularly scheduled programming.

    I'll be home about 2pm.

Got home yesterday at 2pm. Kellans girlfriend was there waiting for him, my wife showed up shortly there after. This hometime isn't for anything but taking my wife in for a medical test down in Miami. We'll be leaving shortly for it.

Left the house at 7:30 this morning, got to my delivery at 7:45, was done at 8:15 and at the Dunkin Donuts a mile from the house at 8:45. Checked my email and had few well wishes from Tim and few other folks back in Richmond. Also got a QC message from safety expressing the same heartfelt thoughts. Kinda puts this whole trucking thing in perspective. I am truly blessed to be employed here at Abilene, not perfect in any stretch of the imagination, but for me that's ok, it's the other things in life that really matter. My job performance here, my attitude here and my safe driving record speaks for itself, in this industry those things are tough enough, it's the other things outside of the job, like life issues, that really show their true colors in people and companies. Abilene has shown theirs.

And there's where it truly counts. Leaving Calex for them was your best move.

The power of prayer, I'm not a religious person, never have been. I do believe though that something bigger then myself put all this together. I have been doing a whole lot of praying lately though. I want to say thanks to everyone of you that said a prayer or two for my wife Lesli. I want to say thanks to specific people, you know who you are. George and Karen, thank you, Chris, my good friend that I worked with at Calex, and one that keeps me up at night while doing the over night deal, love you buddy. Tim, thanks for the encouragement, Shirley, thanks for a needed laugh at the right time. Brian thanks for keeping my head on straight, even though yours is on backwards at times...lol. There's a lot more of you, and I will always have a place in my heart for all of you.

We got to Jackson Memorial Hospital to the brain institute at 3pm. My wife kept asking me if everything was going to be alright. I didn't know, but kept telling her yes. You see, my father-in-law passed away back in '98 from a brain tumor as did my wifes grandmother. We had to fill out forms then we went to the room and waited until they hooked her up to all the machines. We were able to sit with the Doctor who is an expert in this field and watch the monitor with him. To cut this short, at 7pm last night we got the news, she has what is called an acceptable abnormality that is found in approximately 10 out of 100 cases he see's. She was born with it and will live with it the rest of her life with no adverse complications. We need to go back in 6 months to have the same test done and at that time if the 2 tests are the same then she will be done with this. Thank God. This all came about through a routine test they did last month when she was in the hospital for something completely unrelated to this.

This morning, laying in bed talking, she asked me if this scared me, in my infinite wisdom, and with the only answer I could come up with, I told her absolutely it did, she asked me why, and I told her, who would I get to cook my food when I got home to take back out.....I'm now in the dog house. God Bless all, give your loved ones a hug.

You spend so much time in that dog house, you should just turn it in to your man cave. Knowing how you love those dogs, I'm sure the dog house isn't so bad. So happy all is well.
