When buying, get bids from several dealers. Dallas Peterbilt has the best selection and if you buy 1 take delivery in your home state. Saves on taxes. That is a legal loophole also.

That all depends on the state that you live in, some states will charge you a state sales tax no matter where you buy the truck from or where you take delivery.

In Texas no sales tax if you run apportioned plates.

Be sure you do your own research, as well as, talking to several salesman. There are good salesmen out there but unfortunately you can't just bank on ones word, not when your spending 150,000$.

I am buying a new truck from Palmer Trucks of Fort Wayne, IN. It is a new Kenworth and the salesman Phil Dawson really knows his stuff. We sat down to spec out the truck and it took a whole day! There are so many options available and Phil took the time to explain the different options as we went over the order form. I am impressed with this salesman and will look forward to working with him as I await my new truck delivery.

Nevada will charge you sales tax if you tag the truck in Nevada, also in Nevada if you buy NV plates they charge a government service tax based on the manufacures suggested list price,,,Most states will not charge sales tax if you buy apportion plate,,You can tag your trailers in Oklahoma for a one time fee of about $45 and no sales tax,,
