I was planning to call Monday but probably wait til the new year since daughter has surgery beginning of December so need the days I've earned off. Sounds like an awesome company and seems to work hard for their drivers.

i'll be calling after December as well .........

I called this morning. The recruiter I spoke to was very nice but when he entered my zip code, he said I was not in the hiring area for BTC. He said I have to live north of Montgomery, AL and I live about 70 miles south of Montgomery.
Another one bites the dust.

In defense, its really hard for us to get you home when you are that far south. We wouldn't be doing you any favors if we brought you in, then kept you trapped on the road for weeks at a time because we don't have anything that will get you even close to home. You don't get home, you get ticked off (righteously so, in my opinion), and you end up heading over the horizon to another company. That's not a good situation for either you, the driver, or for the company.
I am sorry we didn't have an opportunity for you. Bit remember that in this industry change is the only constant. This year, we may not have anything regular that is close to you. Next year, that may change. -
For the record, the "monkey face" is a sad face, not a "mad face". I completely understand, and actually appreciate, a company telling me I'm not in a hiring area because they don't have the freight to get me home.
I'm not in a pressing hurry to leave my current company, I'm just bored with it and looking for something different. Customer bases change, resulting in expanding or contracting hiring areas, as well as a particular hiring area becoming crowded with drivers, thus ceasing hiring in that area for the time being. My company does that, so I understand the drill. Additionally, as we are heading into a typical slow freight season, many companies tend to slack off hiring drivers until freight picks up again as we head into spring. I will contact BTC recruiting sometime next year to see if the hiring area has changed. I will also continue following this thread.

I believe so, but get with recruiting to get a definite answer. I know we have a few drivers down in that area currently.1catfish Thanks this.

I had a driver from Greensboro, NC so Im fairly sure that we do.
1catfish Thanks this. -
I wouldn't say its a class a company. I was there in feb of this year till about a month and half ago. The tarping is horrendous, the tarps are junk. One thing that really bothered me was the "road ambassadors" its just very wrong having paid people higher amounts of money to basically spy on peoples load. I understand the concept but its still not right. Its always gotta be BTC way or no way. They paid decent. I may be coming back for awhile. Overall its decent but i think there are improvements like every company.
