Offers or more doors open that I could apply for is why I got them.
I have everything but HM (studying for it now), just signed up for my TWIC/HM card, so when I go for my class A test in a few weeks I will add all of it to my license because as someone said if I get them later I have to pay again to have it added to my license.

BTW tanker was added to my class B when I got my permit and will be carried over to the class A and the double/triple that is on hold will also be added to the class A.
After a few years if I find I don't need something more like HM that needs renewing every few years I may drop it.

I think it also depends on what you will be doing as I have never seen a flat bed hauling HM or double/triple but then again I have not been out west a lot so ??

    I see Doubles/Triples hauling HM
and even Flatbeds, which makes me scratch my head at times

When I first started with Indian River I hauled HM, I know its funny to see on a food-grade company

All of the ltl companies require hazmat,doubles/triples, and tanker is now a requirement because ltl carriers are hauling those large liquid totes. Get all your endorsements they will make you good money.

I have hauled hazmat on a flat. I let my hazmat go when they started charging for the background check. I would only haul maybe one hazmat load a year on a flat. You will probably haul more hazmat with a van or some tankers than with a flat. Starting out, it will offer more opportunities if you have hazmat. But, there are plenty of carriers who don't do hazmat. It is a lot of hassle for the carrier to haul hazmat. But, you can save on your TWIC card if you get the hazmat first.

Because I am stuck intrastate for the next 3 years (medical waiver) I would need to go with a LTL co. and you are right they want all endorsements.

    I can't mail-in, I don't live in Hawaii, I can only walk-in

I haven't been able to get to the local TWIC office, 1) its 2 hours away 2) when I first started I was off weekends and the TWIC office was closed weekends 3) I had no idea if I passed or failed

The most important credential is the one you have when you need it.
